A-22 Develop Baseline Survey Report Commence Habitability Validation and Design, and document that fact with the Baseline Survey Report. Accomplish survey. Identify compartments, fixture counts and assess condition to establish priorities for project planning and design.(A-660)
 
A-15 TC Issue Advance Planning Notice to the Ship The Type Commander will issue an Advance Planning Notice (currently an e-mail) to the ship indicating the planned work scope of the next habitability installation project.  This notice will request Ships' acknowledgement and the Commanding Officer's concurrence so continued planning and material identification and procurement can proceed.(Supports A-360)
 
A-14 Ship Respond to Advance Planning Notice The Ship, having received the Advance Planning Notice, reviews the compartments selected for installations and provides concurrence or may request a different selection.  Once the Ship has responded and any needed changes have been agreed to, the Type Commander will issue a Project Confirmation Letter to all parties involved, and planning and material identification will proceed. (Supports A-360)
 
A-12 Start Design Shipcheck Start Design Validation Shipcheck for the compartments covered by the confirmed work scope, and update drawings for issue. (Supports A-240)
 
A-8 Spec Development and Drawing Package to Planning Activity The Support Office will develop the Spec Development package consisting of all necessary installation and procurement drawings and issue it to the appropriate planning activity. (Currently the drawings are issued via secure file transfer and/or on CD-ROM). (A-240)
 
A-8 Deliver Procurement Package The Support Office will develop a procurement package from the lists of materials required and deliver it to the Program Manager.  The Program Manager will then order the Government Furnished Material (GFM).  Along with the Program Manager the Support Office will monitor and expedite the delivery of any GFM material as necessary.
